When people have only one memory card and hardly ever copy their images to their computer, the end up deleting images to make room for more. This is a very bad habit and can lead to corrupting the whole card.
Buy a second memory card like a less than $10 - 2 gb card (on sale) and format it before you use it. Then see if you get the error. If you still do, there is a problem with your camera and you will have to call the camera maker for assistance.
