I have a Nikon D60 & am looking into a dedicated Nikon flash. I don't want to spend over $200. I'm a student but I do A LOT of shooting on my own that would be greatly improved with a flash. I use the SB800 at school but that's a little out of my price range. I heard the SB24's good but will that work in program??
Look for a good used SB600 or even SB400. Look on pages 150-153 of your user manual for more detailed information
Answer by fhotoace on 14 Jan 2010 11:59:30The SB 400 should be okay, but you would probably be happier with the SB 600. It has a bit more power, which is useful for bounce flash, which loses several stops compared to direct flash. It has more direction adjustment. With flash mounted on the hotshoe, you can point the SB 600 to the ceiling in either landscape or portrait orientation. The SB400 can only be turned that way with camera in landscape orientation.
