I have a Kodak Digital Camera model 813c and one emachine computer..320 gb hard drive with 1 gb memory..will this New 32GB SD Flash Memory Card 32G Secure Digital SDHC work?
Well the size of your memory card has nothing to do with the amount of RAM your computer has, nor the size of the hard drive it has, although after you have filled your 32 gb card ten times, there will be no room for the OS on your computer.
I have no idea why one would want to use a 32 gb card in a camera, unless it was a $5,000 HD video camera that uses SDHC cards.
Acatually as a pro, I prefer smaller cards for a number of reasons.
1) low in cost
2) I can use smaller 2 gb cards for every assignment and if I should run out of room (although 25 shots is usually enough to complete one assignment), I can just place another 2 gb card in my camera
3) the time it takes to copy the images from a 32 gb card could take a long, long time (USB 2.0 @ 480 Mbit/sec)
4) with larger cards, one is tempted to delay copying ones images to their computer.
5) IF for some reason the card becomes corrupted, there is just that many more images to be lost if recovery is not possible
That said, your C813 cannot accept SDHC cards (4 gb and larger). You camera is limited to SD cards, 2 gb or smaller
The one thing you need to find out is if your camera has a limit on how big a card it can handle. I have seen where a camera uses a certain type of card (like the SD) but has a limit in big a capacity the card can be.
For example an older camera that uses SD cards may only work with up to 4GB cards. So first see if your camera lists a limit. Check your manual, and/or Kodak's website.
I included some photo dealer links below if you go shopping and want some buying options.
A quick search and I found these prices (I sticked with the Sandisk brand):
SDHC 8GB cost about $30 to $35
SDHC 16GB cost about $60 to $65
SDHC 32GB cost about $114
Hope this helps.
