Will a sony 55 MM fit on my canon 55 MM? Opteka.?

The 55 mm is the filter thread size on the Sony lenses that have that size filter thread.

IF the lens you are using on your Canon XSi has a 55 mm filter thread scheme then yes, however if you have the standard 18-55 mm zoom lens, you will need an add-on lens that screws onto a 58 mm filter thread.

As you will see, the Sony 18-55 mm lens has a 55 mm filter thread size.

I would take a look at the manufactures web site for the details but it looks like it screws on just as any filter does. So as long as the lens you intend to attach it to is 55mm then it should fit.
