My Nikon camera has taken this pictures and they show up as .NEF on my computer, how do I make them JPG?

. NEF is a raw format (uncompressed/lossless). The best way to convert them is to use ViewNX (most Nikon cameras come with the software) and use the convert files command at the top center.

You will have to use the program that came with your camera to process the RAW files. This is true for ANY camera that produces RAW files.

In the future, shoot RAW + JPEG when out shooting images. Then you can edit (sort) using the JPEG files and once you have the best of the best in a new file folder, process just the matching RAW files.

If you have Photoshop, you can down load a free RAW file processing plug-in and use it to process the RAW files and save them either as high quality JPEG or TIFF files.
